Nearly every Comp Sci student I've met wanted to work in the game industry. This idea starts to look unlikely after a year or so. It's a lot of competition for a fairly small number of jobs. You have to be damn good to get to work on a AAA title. Most budding game programmers give it up as a pipe dream.
But I'm stubborn that way. I've been a student of game design for years. Not just computer games, either. Board games, card games, role-playing, and miniatures are games, too. A whole genera of computer games grew out of D&D, and and table-top RPGs have been influenced by computer games in turn. Game design is a broad field, so why limit yourself to one medium?
My meandering needs an outlet, so I made a blog. Stay tuned for everything from the evolution of D&D to the ethics of free-to-play online games.
